Freddie Eugene Linkous of Morehead, KY, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at UK St. Claire, Morehead, KY, at the age of 74 years & 30 days. He was born Saturday, March 31, 1951, in Frenchburg, KY, son of Charlie Hobart & Hazel Bush Linkous.
Freddie was united in marriage to Patricia Arnett Gross. He was retired from Mountain Telephone, working in fiber optics. He was a Christian and of the Church of God faith. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother, and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Hobart & Hazel Linkous; his first wife, Linda Taulbee Linkous; one brother, Charlie Hobart Linkous, Jr.; and one granddaughter, Alanna Gross.
Freddie is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Linkous; four children, Timmy Gross (Tammy) of West Liberty, Gregory Gross of Pheonix, AZ, Tammy Linkous of Campton, and Scott Linkous (Tina) of West Liberty; five grandchildren, Joe Alexander (Tracy), Heather Keeton (Cory), Megan Messer (Zach), Chelsea Linkous (Nathaniel Gevedon), and Shanna Johnson (Tate); nine great grandchildren Jaci, Ryder, Kalli, & Chevi Alexander, Lucas & Abby Gevedon, Jace & Zane Messer, and baby girl Messer due in September; and one brother, Teddie Linkous (Gwen).
Funeral service, 2 p.m., Sunday, May 4, 2025 at Potter Funeral Home, with Rev. Teddie Linkous & Pastor Andy Lands officiating. Burial to follow in the Lane Cemetery, Valeria, Wolfe Co., KY. Visitation 6 p.m., Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Potter Funeral Home.
Pallbearers: Tate Johnson, Zach Messer, Cory Keeton, Joe Alexander, Ryder Alexander, and Scott Alexander.
Honorary Pallbearers: Scott Linkous, Timmy Gross, Gregory Gross, Larry Arnett, Anthony Arnett, and All His Mountain Telephone Work Family.
