Frank Oakley of West Liberty, KY, passed away, Monday, December 26, 2022 at his residence, at the age of 91 years, 1 month, and 2 days. He was born Tuesday, November 24, 1931, in Yocum, KY, son of the late Kelly & Marie Goad Oakley.
He was united in marriage to Joyce Gibson. He was a retired Road Maintenance Worker for the KY State Highway Department. He was a Christian and a member of the Ezel First Church of God. He will be remembered as a loving husband, brother, uncle, and brother-in-law and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Kelly and Marie Oakley, he was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters, Bill Oakley, Shirley Fields, and Nina Oakley; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wardie & Mary Gibson; two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law, Phyllis Benton, Diana Bowman, and Larry Gibson; and one nephew, Randall Gibson.
He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Gibson; one brother, Charlie Oakley of Arizona; several nieces and nephews; one brother-in-law, Ronnie Gibson (Alma) of Woodsbend, KY; special nieces, Summer Britney Benton, Kenadi Benton, and Jaelin Williams; and special nephews, Kevin Ray Benton and Adam Scott Bowman.
Funeral Service 1 p.m., Thursday, December 29, 2022 at the Potter Funeral Home with Bro. Jason Moore officiating. Burial to follow in the Flatwoods Cemetery, Woodsbend, KY. Visitation from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Thursday, December 29, 2022 at the funeral home.
