Eugene Vance

Eugene Vance of West Liberty, KY, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2026, at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center, Hazard, KY, at the age of 90 years, 6 months, and 2 days.  He was born Tuesday, July 2, 1935, at West Liberty, KY, son of Buford & Stella Mae (Vance) Vance.

Eugene was united in marriage to Evelyn Day.  This union was blessed with 3 children, Kenneth, Danny Joe, and Kathy.  He was a retired self-employed truck owner & driver.                

He was preceded in death by his parents, Buford & Stella Mae Vance; his wife, Evelyn Day Vance; daughter, Kathy Vance; ten siblings, Delmar Vance, Delphis Vance, Glennis Vance, Christine Evans, Grover Vance, Vernon Vance, J.C. Vance, Drexel Vance, Charles Vance, & Merlene Vance.

Eugene is survived by his sons, Kenneth Eugene Vance (Teresa) and Danny Jo Vance (Anita); five grandsons, Jarrod, Nathan, Nick, Kevin, and Luke; seven great grandchildren, Ava, Lucy, Beau, Kennedy, Karlee, Klara, and Saige; one sister, Connie Vance May (Ross); one brother Ronnie Vance (Janie); and his special friend, Avanell Goodpaster.

Eugene will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Graveside service 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at the Vance Fork Cemetery, with Bro. Mike Frisby officiating.  Potter Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
