Ernest C. Purcell

Ernest C. Purcell of West Liberty, KY, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Morgan County ARH, West Liberty, KY, at the age of 74 years, 8 months, and 25 days. He was born Wednesday, September 24, 1947, in Chicago, IL, son of the late Clarence & Zelma Dingus Purcell.

He was united in marriage to Barbara Miller Purcell.  With this union, they raised one daughter, Tiffany.  Ernest was a retired machine maintenance worker for General Motors.  He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, serving his country during the Vietnam War.  He will be remembered as a loving father, step father, step grandfather, brother, and uncle.  He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Miller Purcell; one son; and one step grandson.

Ernest is survived by his daughter, Tiffany M. Purcell (Joshua Devlin) of West Liberty, KY; two step daughters, Karrie Grabinski (Roger) of Illinois and Tina Earle; one granddaughter; several step grandchildren; one sister, Joyce Wellborn of Prestonsburg, KY; one brother, David Purcell of Prestonsburg, KY; and one nephew, Eric Wellborn of Prestonsburg, KY.

Visitation from 1 - 3 p.m., Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at the Potter Funeral Home.
