Elmo Dwayne “Whitey” Lykins of West Liberty, KY, passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2021 in Ironton, OH, at the age of 47 years. He was born Sunday, May 26, 1974, at Morehead, KY, son of the late Elmo Lykins & Peggy Havens Ratliff.
Whitey was united in marriage to Heather Debrodie. This union was blessed with one daughter and his little “Pumpkin” (as he would call her), Malayah Bennett Lykins. Whitey was a graduate of Morgan County High School where he played football and baseball. He also attended trade school after graduating and worked in Heating and Cooling and Carpentry. Whitey was a loving father to his daughter, and he will be missed by all of his family and friends.
Whitey was preceded in death by his parents, Elmo Lykins and Peggy Havens Ratliff.
He is survived by his daughter, Malayah Bennett “Pumpkin” Lykins; two brothers, Timothy “Toad” Lykins and Cody Ratliff both of West Liberty, KY; three sisters, Melissa Brewer of Campton, KY, Sandy Gullett and Lisa Rowe both of West Liberty, KY; his wife and mother of his daughter, Heather Debrodie of West Liberty, KY; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Memorial service 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at the Grace Baptist Church, Malone, KY, with Bro. Mike Lindon and Rev. Raymond Vancleave officiating. Burial to follow at the Oliver Haney Cemetery, Stacy Fork, KY. Visitation from 11:00 a.m. – 1 p.m., Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at the Grace Baptist Church, with Potter Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
