Ella Mae (Morris) Holbrook

Ella Mae Holbrook of Lexington, KY, passed away Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Baptist Healthcare, Lexington, KY, at the age of 82 years and 18 days. She was born Wednesday, October 15, 1941 at Ezel, KY, daughter of the late Jesse Morris & Della Burton Morris Rudd.

She was united in marriage to Coy Holbrook, this union was blessed with five children.  She was retired from working as a sales clerk in a retail clothing store and was a Christian.  She loved her family and will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Morris & Della Morris Rudd; her husband, Coy Holbrook; two children, Wanda Moore and Terry Holbrook; grandson, Anthony Stinnett; three sisters, Pauline Silcox and Wilma Beckman, and Norene Cantrell; and one brother, Forrest Morris.

Ella is survived by three children, Beverly Mae Holbrook and Debra Ann Holbrook both of Lexington, KY, and James C. Holbrook of Winchester, KY; five grandchildren, Caitlin Holbrook & Michael Meholovitch of Lexington, KY, Brandon Hill of Lexington, KY, Allison Hill & James of Richmond, KY, Sky Creech of Winchester, KY, and Brian Stinnett of Lexington, KY; and three great grandchildren, Samson Hill, Luka Meholovitch, and Magnolia Meholovitch.

Funeral Service 1:30 p.m., Sunday, November 5, 2023 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Rev. Jamie Brunk officiating.  Burial to follow in the Morris Cemetery, Caney, KY.  Visitation from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., Sunday, November 5, 2023 at the funeral home.
