Obituary

Elizabeth “Lisa” Shirl Lykins, 57, of West Liberty, KY went home to be with her beloved Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, surrounded by family after a long courageous battle with cancer.

She is survived by her loving husband of 22 years, Christopher Lykins; her father, Clarence W. Hatfield of Bell Buckle, TN; son, Kyle Smith (Karen) of South Williamson, KY; daughter, Kayla Anderson (Tim) of Miamisburg, OH; grandsons, Ronnie Maynard, Shane Kilgore, Logan Rains, & Alex Smith; granddaughters, Kirstyn Prater & Kyndra Prater; great grandchild, Riminy Maynard; siblings, Joe Hatfield (Kim) of Bell Buckle, TN, C.W. Hatfield (Christina) of Lexington, KY, and Jake Hatfield of Williamson, WV; her beloved aunts & uncles, Ed Hatfield (Susan) of Chattaroy, WV, Florence Whitcomb (Chas) of Coshocton, OH, Dorothy Goble of Ypsilanti, MI, Wetzel Hatfield of Beavercreek, OH, Viola Sowers of Piqua, OH, Janett Hatfield (Booke) of Red Jacket, WV; her Mother-in-Law & Father-in-Law, Dudley & Marilyn Lykins of West Liberty, KY; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Lillian Sue Skeens Hatfield; paternal grandparents, Dutch & Nevah Hatfield; maternal grandparents, Tom & Minnie Skeens; sister, Jennifer Nichole Hatfield; and sister & best friend, Vicki (Donahoe) Walker.

Lisa was born May 21, 1966 in Clarksburg, WV and grew up in Meador, WV.  She was a cheerleader, majorette, and graduated from Magnolia (Matewan) High School in 1984.  She worked for ARH Hospital for 20 years and retired in 2019.  She loved spending time and making memories with family and friends.  Her grandbabies were her pride and joy.  She enjoyed going on trips and to the movies with her husband Chris who was the love of her life.  She had accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior.   Lisa radiated kindness and love to anyone she met.  She touched many people with her strength, love of helping others, and uplifting personality.  She is loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her.

A special thank you to Marilyn Lykins for your love and care of Lisa, to Bluegrass Hospice Care, and to Jana, Christina & Crystal at Bluegrass Hospice Care whom provided wonderful care and assistance to her. 

Funeral service 3:00 p.m., Sunday, July 16, 2023 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Bro. Jeffrey Farmer officiating.  Burial to follow in the Perry Cemetery, Blairs Mill, West Liberty, KY.  Visitation from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., Sunday, July 16, 2023 at the funeral home.  A celebration of life will follow the burial at the Oak Hill Church of God Fellowship Hall at Blairs Mill, KY, all friends and family are welcome to attend.

Pallbearers:  C.W. Hatfield, Joe Hatfield, Kyle Smith, Tim Anderson, Darrell Lykins, Denver Lykins, Gale Thornsberry, & Mikie McClurg.

Honorary Pallbearers:  Jake Hatfield, Josh Hatfield, Dudley Whitt, Chas Whitcomb, Cameron Hatfield, Robby Lewis, Robbie Cisco, & Larry Lykins.

 In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Perry Cemetery at Blairs Mill, KY, Mail donations to C/O Donna Elam, 3832 Hwy 711, West Liberty, KY  41472.
