Elaine M (Ison) Hill

Elaine M. Ison Hill of Sandy Hook, KY, passed away, Sunday, January 8, 2023 at the West Liberty Nursing & Rehab Center, at the age of 76 years, 7 months, and 2 days.  She was born Thursday, June 6, 1946, in Bruin, KY, daughter of the late Orville Ison & Merinda Maggard Ison.

Elaine was united in marriage to Billy Ray Hill, Sr.  She was a homemaker, devoting her life to care for her family and her home.  She was a Christian and was of the Pentecostal Faith. She will be remembered as a loving mother, sister, aunt, and friend and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. 

In addition to her parents, Orville & Merinda Ison, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray Hill, Sr.; her son, Billy Ray Hill, Jr.; three brothers, Will Edd Ison, Ray Ison, and Ira Vernon Ison; and one sister, Iona Clevenger.

Elaine is survived by one brother, Matthew Ison (Mary) of Elliott County, KY; several nieces & nephews; and her good friend, Wendell Gauvey of Elliott County, KY. 

Funeral Service 1 p.m., Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Bro. Robert Hinton officiating.  Burial to follow in West Liberty Memorial Gardens.  Visitation 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at the funeral home.
