Dwayne O. Gevedon of Morehead, KY, formerly of Grassy Creek, KY, passed away, Monday, February 20, 2023 at St. Claire Regional Medical Center, Morehead, KY, at the age of 70 years, 9 months, and 23 days. He was born Monday, April 28, 1952, in West Liberty, KY, son of the late Roger Wendell & Anzie Mae Long Gevedon.
Dwayne was united in marriage to Rhonda Rose on April 7, 1972. This union was blessed with one son, Jason.
He was a farmer and former store owner. He was a Christian and a member of the Salem Christian Church. He enjoyed riding horses and coon hunting. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Roger Wendell & Anzie Mae Gevedon, Dwayne was preceded in death by two brothers, Wendell Wayne Gevedon and Timothy Dean Gevedon; and one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Carl Covey and Sharlean Gevedon.
Dwayne is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Rhonda Gevedon; his son & daughter-in-law, Jason & Jessica Gevedon of Grassy Creek, KY; two grandchildren, Jaycee Nichole Gevedon and Jacob Dwayne Gevedon; two sisters, Gloria Covey of Georgetown, KY & Elaine Manning (Keith) of Grassy Creek, KY; sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law, Connie Peck (Bobby) of Lawrenceburg, KY, Denise Spencer (Vernal) of Pineridge, KY, Lawrence Ray Rose (Leisha) of Maytown, KY, Marcus Rose (Joy) of Hazel Green, KY, and Doug Rose (Marva) of Campton, KY; and a host of nieces & nephews.
Funeral Service 11 a.m., Thursday, February 23, 2023 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Bro. Danny Collins & Bro. William Walter officiating. Burial to follow in the Salem Cemetery, Buskirk, KY. Visitation 6 p.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers: Phillip Byrd, Beau Covey, Brad Gevedon, Winston Manning, Doug Rose, Lawrence Ray Rose, Marcus Rose, and Phillip Lykins.
Honorary Pallbearers: Tommy Richard, David Wayne Nickell, Sid Stewart, Suzette Oldfield, Paul Peyton, Jesse Bush, and All His Many Friends.
