"A Man Who Follows God Is Always On The Right Path"
Dudley Lane Lykins of West Liberty, KY, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Morgan County ARH, West Liberty, KY, at the age of 72 years, 7 months, & 13 days. He was born Monday, April 7, 1952 in West Liberty, KY, son of Douglas & Mary Kathleen Easterling Lykins.
Dudley in his early teenage years farmed tobacco and bought his first car, a Ford Fairlane GT at the age of 15. He also was a logger and continued raising tobacco while working at Licking Valley RECC. His farming later moved to raising cattle. He was so great at working and handling the cattle, his family would call him the cow whisperer. Besides his hard work ethic that he practiced and lived his whole life, he loved and served the Lord with all his heart. He continued that hard work ethic and applying it to the Lord. He loved and cherished his family and grandkids and loved making them laugh and taking care of all his family.
Dudley was united in marriage to Marilyn Nickell. This union was blessed with one son, Christopher Dudley. Dudley was saved and baptized in February 2000 at the Glenn Ave. Church of God. He was a member of the Lick Fork Pentecostal Church. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother, and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas & Mary Kathleen Lykins; paternal grandparents, Will Tom & Parthenia Lykins; maternal grandparents, Homer & Ruby Easterling; an infant brother, Rodney Lykins; his daughter-in-law, Lisa Lykins; and his father-in-law & mother-in-law, Oakley & Mary F. Nickell.
Dudley is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn Lykins; his son, Christopher Dudley Lykins of West Liberty; two grandchildren, Kayla Smith & Kyle Smith; four great grandchildren, Kirstyn Prater, Kyndra Prater, Logan Raines, & Alex Smith; two brothers, Larry & Myra Lykins and Rex & Karen Lykins; two sisters, Cheryl & Bill Wright, Tonya & Chuck Skeens; and several nieces, nephews, & cousins.
