Dorothy Iris (Hargis) Holbrook of White Oak, KY passed away tragically on April 24, 2021.
Dorothy was born on November 17, 1941 in Franklin, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late John and Kathleen (Turner) Hargis of Morehead, KY.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Larry Burt Holbrook of White Oak, KY; five children, Tammy Hosack of Wellington, KY, Pamela (Todd) Muse of Kingsport, TN, Teresa (Dennis) Mullins of Jackson, KY, Pete Hosack of Morehead, KY, and Suzanne (David) Francis of Jacksonville, FL. Seven siblings, John (Deb) Hargis, Walter (Emma) Hargis, Gerald (Laura) Hargis, Sally (Jack) Malley, Deborah Ormond, David Hargis, and Cheryl (Roger) Snyder; five grandchildren, Brittany and Nicholas Mullins, Meredith and Mallory Muse, and Victoria Francis. Two aunts, one uncle, and many cousins, nieces, nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Suzanne Richardson, Kathleen Thompson, and one brother Stephen Hargis.
Those fortunate enough to have known Dorothy, will appreciate how much she cared for others and her ability to always see the good in everything and everyone. She will be remembered for her generosity, sweet spirit, excellent cooking/baking talents, impressive fishing skills and magnificent hospitality. She loved to read and was an avid Jeopardy fan. Most importantly, she will be sorely missed by her family and friends. Night Night sweet momma we love you.
Dorothy was a faithful member of White Oak Christian Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at Potter Funeral Home in West Liberty, Ky on Saturday May 1, 2021 at 1:00 with Pastor Greg Helton officiating. Burial to follow at the Brown Cemetery in Morehead, KY. Visitation will be on Saturday May 1 from 11:00-1:00 pm at Potter Funeral Home.
