David Drexel Smith

David Drexel Smith of West Liberty, KY, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at UK Medical Center, Lexington, KY, at the age of 72 years, 9 months, & 5 days.  He was born at Grassy Creek, KY, on Saturday, June 21, 1952, son of Earl & Joyce Smith.

He was united in marriage to Wendy Whitlock Smith.  He was of the Christian and attended Index Community Church.  He served his country in the U.S. Army.  He was self-employed as a soft drink vending company.  He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl & Joyce Smith.

He is survived by his loving wife, Wendy Whitlock Smith; four children, Jennifer Miller of OH, Tonya Salyers of KY, Kevin Smith of OH, and Ronni Smith of TX; three step children, John Brogan of WV, Tiffany Brogan of MO, & Chad Brogan of WV; sixteen grandchildren; three sisters & one brother, Sharon Smith Donathan, Ricky Smith, Charlene Engle (Pete), and Melanie Barker (Steve) all of KY; and two nephews & one niece, Zach Engle, Dylan Barker, & Adalyn Barker.
