Darrell Eugene Skaggs

Darrell Eugene Skaggs of West Liberty, KY, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2023 at his residence, at the age of 74 years, 4 months, and 24 days.  He was born Thursday, August 4, 1949 in Springfield, OH, son of the late John & Angie Doolin Skaggs.

Darrell was united in marriage to Thelma Mooney.  This union was blessed with two children, Michael & Angelisa.  He was a Christian and a member of Cannonsburg Primitive Baptist Church.  He was veteran, retiring after 22 years of service in the United States Army.  He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother, and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, John & Angie Skaggs, he was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Skaggs and two brothers, Charlie Skaggs and Larry Skaggs.

He is survived by two children, Michael Skaggs (Sandra) of Gilbertsville, KY and Angelisa Kellner (Elizabeth) of South Carolina; six grandchildren, Jennifer, Kristiana, Robbin, Sean, Andrew, and Kiya; five great grandchildren, Bastion, Daniel, Caroline, Noah, and Ember; one brother, John Skaggs (Sharon) of Centerburg, OH; and two sisters, Corilda Lyon (Garland) of Houston, TX and Cathy Renner (David) of Springfield, OH.

Funeral Service 1 p.m., Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Elder Joe Miller, Elder John J. Funk, and Elder Eddy Lester officiating.  Burial to follow in the Skaggs Family Cemetery, West Liberty, KY.  Visitation from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at the funeral home.
