Dana Jean Ison

Dana Jean Combs Ison of West Liberty, KY, passed away Saturday, October 26, 2024, at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington, KY, at the age of 66 years, 4 months, & 28 days.  She was born Wednesday, May 28, 1958 at Paintsville, KY, daughter of Charles William “Sonny” & Billye Delores Hall Combs.

Dana was united in marriage to Dewie Ison on November 10, 1984.  This union was blessed with two sons, Chris & Daniel.  She was a retired Secretary at Morgan County High School.  She was a Christian for over 40 years and member of the East Point Church of Christ.  She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, daughter, and sister, and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Sonny Combs; and her father-in-law & mother-in-law, Leslie & Clarice Lewis Ison.

She is survived by her loving husband of almost 40 years, Dewie Ison; her mother, Billye Combs of Paintsville; two sons, Chris Ison (Jennie) of Lexington and Daniel Ison (Nellie) of Vallonia, IN; four grandchildren, Asher Ison, Spencer Ison, Grace Ison, & Titus Ison; two brothers, Charles Michael Combs (Laura) of Lebanon, MO and Gary Combs (Reba) Maryville, TN; and a host of nieces & nephews.

Funeral service, 1 p.m., Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Bro. David Ison, Bro. Rob Ison, & Bro. Aaron Davis officiating.  Entombment to follow at West Liberty Memorial Gardens & Mausoleum, West Liberty, KY.  Visitation from 6 - 8 p.m., Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at the Potter Funeral Home.

Pallbearers:  Brandon Ison, Wesley Jenkins, Adam Ison, David Dooley, Ben Thomas, Ryan Gevedon, & Sean Gevedon.
