Christina McKenzie

Christina McKenzie of West Liberty, KY, passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at her son’s residence, at the age of 64 years and 14 days.  She was born Sunday, July 28, 1957, at Columbus, OH, daughter of the late Alvin Lee & Pauline Ada Ferguson Gillum.

She was united in marriage to Franklin McKenzie.  This union was blessed with four children, Lee, Franklin Jr., Pauline “P.J.”, and Christopher Lloyd.  She was a former machine operator for Lion Apparel.  She was a Christian and a member of the Elizabeth Freewill Baptist Church.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and sister, and will be missed by all of her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Alvin Lee & Pauline Ada Gillum, she was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister, Arthur & Dora Gillum, Iretha & Autie Keaton, Kenneth Gillum, Ray Gillum, and James Gillum.

She is survived by her husband, Franklin McKenzie; four children, Lee McKenzie, Franklin McKenzie, Jr., Pauline “P.J.” McKenzie, and Christopher Lloyd McKenzie all of West Liberty, KY; seven grandchildren, Brittany McKenzie, Alyson McKenzie & her husband, Jacob Holbrook, Franklin McKenzie, III, Jonathan Sams, Faith Bailey, Brooke Bailey, and Ford McKenzie; three great grandchildren, Aubri Hunley, Ryleigh Holbrook, Elena Stamper; one brother, Christopher & Tammy Jo Gillum of Flemingsburg, KY; sister-in-law, Barbara Gillum of Ohio; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral service 11 a.m., Saturday, August 14, 2021 at the Elizabeth Baptist Church, Martha, KY, with Rev. Paul Tussey officiating.  Burial to follow in the Gillum Family Cemetery, Martha, KY.  Visitation 6 p.m., Friday, August 13, 2021 at the Elizabeth Baptist Church, Martha, KY.

Pallbearers:  Alvin Gillum, Danny Keaton, Autie Keaton, Billy Ray Fannin, Greg Keaton, J.R. Gillum, and Eddie Gillum.
