Brenda Sue Hammons

Brenda Sue Hammons of Elkfork, KY, passed away Sunday, July 18, 2021 at Morgan County ARH, West Liberty, KY, at the age of 69 years, 3 months, and 1 day. She was born Thursday, April 17, 1952, at Redwine, KY, daughter of the late Ivan & Mazie Elliott Cassity.

Brenda was united in marriage to Larry Joe Hammons. She was a homemaker who devoted her life to care for her family and home. Brenda was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, and will be missed by all of her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Ivan & Mazie Cassity, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Joe Hammons; one brother, Denzil Cassity; one sister, Nadine Elliott; and a special nephew, Jodey Elliott.

She is survived by her three children, Scott Keeton, Stella & Shawn Ramey, and Eugenia Keeton; nine grandchildren, Isaiah Keeton, Bailey Keeton, Abigail Keeton, Landen Ramey, Gunner Jace Ramey, River Ramey, Aubryn-Elle Lewis, Aspen Keeton, and Eli Keeton; two sisters and one brother, Irene & Ted Elliott, Imagene Vest, and Charles & Ardean Cassity; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral service 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Bro. David Elliott officiating. Burial to follow in the Wells Creek Cemetery, Sandy Hook, KY. Visitation from 12 - 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at the funeral home.
