Bobby Ray Fields of West Liberty, KY, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2021 at U.K. Medical Center, Lexington, KY, at the age of 88 years, 2 months, and 2 days. He was born Monday, December 19, 1932 at Whitesburg, KY, son of the late McKinley & Cora Branson Fields.
Ray was united in marriage to Jewell Amburgey, within this union, they raised five daughters, Jean, Betty, Terry, Dianah, and Linda. Ray was a retired factory worker for GM. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving his country in the 1950’s. Ray had many hobbies such as hunting, fishing, and gardening, but most of all he enjoyed being with his family. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great & great-great grandfather, brother and uncle; he will be missed by all of his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jewell Amburgey Fields; one daughter, Gloria “Jean” Tuttle; two grandchildren, Christy Hall & Matthew Tuttle; three brothers, Buryl Fields, Louis Fields, and James Fields; and one sister, Nell Smith.
Ray is survived by four daughters, Betty Hall, Terry & Hollie Williams, and Dianah & Brett Williamson all of Dayton, OH, and Linda & Kevin Conner of West Liberty, KY; 8 grandchildren, Bj, Holly Ray, Brandon, Jaxon, Zac, Devin, Luke, and Alexis; 14 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; one sister, Alice & Wendell Lewis of West Liberty, KY; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral service 11:30 a.m., Friday, February 26, 2021 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Bro. Phillip Ferguson officiating. Burial to follow in the Wiley Amburgey Cemetery, Big Doubles RD, Mallie, KY. Visitation from 10 – 11:30 a.m., Friday, February 26, 2021 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers: Devin Conner, James Ferguson, Zac Williamson, Luke Williamson, Adam Lewis, and John Lewis.
