Billy W. Smith of Catlettsburg, KY, passed away Saturday, March 20, 2021 at his residence, at the age of 79 years, 2 months, and 6 days. He was born Wednesday, January 14, 1942, at Mima, KY, son of the late Stanford McCoy & Jewell Gullett Smith.
Billy was united in marriage to Carolyn Holbrook. This union was blessed with two children, Charles Allen & Jeffrey McCoy. He was a laborer and was a member of the local union #1445. He was a Christian and was member of the Smith Creek Baptist Church. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and brother; he will be missed by all of his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Ann Holbrook Smith; one son, Charles Allen Smith; and one brother & one sister, Stanford McCoy “Junior” Smith and Avanelle Wells.
Billy is survived by one son, Jeffrey McCoy & Mary Ellen Smith of Greenup, KY; two grandchildren, Clara Grace Smith & Jesse McCoy Smith; four sisters & one brother, Carolyn Sue & Milton Cox of Saville, OH, Dora Whitt of Ashland, KY, Patricia & Chuck Winkler of Rittman, OH, Karen & Fred Hackworth of Ashland, KY, and Darrell & Margaret Smith of Sandy Hook, KY; one sister-in-law, Diane Smith of Russell, KY; two special friends, Larry Meek and Shaini Dickerson; and a host of nieces & nephews.
Graveside service 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 26, 2021 at the Holbrook Cemetery, with Bro. Jackie Smith & Bro. Ricky Holbrook officiating. Visitation 12 p.m., Friday, March 26, 2021, at the Holbrook Cemetery, Hwy 437, West Liberty, KY.
Pallbearers: Jeff Smith, Larry Meek, Shaini Dickerson, Shaileigh Dickerson, Brenda Adams, Paul Adams, James Christian, Nick Oney, and Mark Cox.
