Beverly Lynn (Roe) Newsome

Beverly Lynn Newsome of West Liberty, KY, passed away Friday, June 9, 2023, at the UK Medical Center, Lexington, KY, at the age of 51 years, 10 months, and 17 days. She was born on Friday, July 23, 1971 at Morehead, KY, daughter of the late Thomas Jackson & Delorse Fay McCarty Roe.

Beverly was a 1989 Graduate of Morgan County High School.  She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Berea College.  Beverly was employed as an Office Supervisor at the KY State Police Post 8 in Morehead, KY.  She was a faithful Christian and a member of the First Baptist Church, West Liberty, KY.  She will be remembered as a loving mother, sister, aunt, and friend and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Thomas Jackson & Delorse Fay Roe, she was preceded in death by one sister, Deon Barrett. 

Survivors include her son, Nate Newsome of West Liberty, KY; two sisters & two brothers, Celia Day (Larry) of West Liberty, KY, Ronnie Roe (Treva) of Jeffersonville, KY, Sandra Back (Tim) of Versailles, KY, and Richard Roe (Julie) of Jackson, KY; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral Service 1 p.m., Monday, June 12, 2023 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Bro. Jeff Ryder officiating.  Burial to follow in the South Fork Cemetery, Malone, KY.  Visitation from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Monday, June 12, 2023 at the Potter Funeral Home.

Pallbearers:  Nate Newsome, Caleb Newsome, Josh Newsome, Scott Ferrell, Joe Veeneman, Mike Workman, and Kelley Bowman.

Honorary Pallbearers:  Bebe Yeary, Crystal Keeton, Sandra Willoughby, Joy Sosmena, Mary Beth Lacy, Alice McWain, Michelle Fannin, and Paula Newsome.
