Betty Kemplin Stewart of Ezel, KY, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2025, at her residence, at the age of 85 years, 6 months, and 9 days. She was born Saturday, May 18, 1940, at Omer, KY, daughter of Willie & Ella Lewis Kemplin.
Betty was united in marriage to Gordon Stewart and was a homemaker, devoting her life to care for her family. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie & Ella Kemplin; her husband, Gordon Stewart; one sister, Norma Jean Barker; and five brothers, Jimmy Kemplin, Bernard Kemplin, Carl Kemplin, Russell Kemplin, and Dale Kemplin.
Betty is survived by two children, Rod McMahan (Nina) of Salt Lick, KY and Tonya McMahan of Ezel, KY; four step children, Kim Whitaker, Rick Stewart (Julie), Tammy Chrisman (Dave), and Randy Stewart (Deena); four grandchildren, Amanda Murnahan, Joshua McMahan, Amber McMahan, and Jadon Hill; seven great grandchildren, Sierra Ferguson (Braddy), Molly Elam, Carter Ratliff, Katrina Isaac, Kelsey Ratliff, Christian Isaac, & Mackenzie Williamson; a host of step grandchildren & step great grandchildren; three sisters, Ruth Kemplin, Linda Kemplin, and Brenda Kemplin; and three brothers, Chester Kemplin (Kate), Bill Kemplin, and Mark Kemplin (JoAnn).
Betty will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral service 1 p.m., Sunday, November 30, 2025, at the Potter Funeral Home, with Pastor Ed Hoffman & Gene Vanover officiating. Burial to follow in the Ezel Cemetery, Ezel, KY. Visitation 12 noon, Sunday, November 30, 2025 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers: Chester Kemplin, Mark Kemplin, Billy Kemplin, Gene Vanover, Ed Hoffman, Brock Fairchild, and Jadon Hill.
