Betty Jean Holbrook Cantrell of West Liberty, KY, passed away Friday, May 14, 2021 at her residence, at the age of 78 years, 7 months, and 9 days. She was born Monday, October 5, 1942, at West Liberty, KY, daughter of the late Dave & Bessie Smith Holbrook.
Betty was united in marriage to Carl Cantrell. This union was blessed with three children, Patty, Rodney, and Linda. She was retired from the food service industry as a cook. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She will be missed by all of her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Cantrell; two daughters, Patty Gibbins and Linda Cantrell; four grandchildren, Mindy Wilks, Melissa Gibbins, Nicole Gibbins, and Bradley Gibbins; three sisters, Wilma Lemaster, Carolyn Smith, and Mae Rowland; and three brothers, Ronald Holbrook, Whipple Holbrook and Edward Holbrook.
She is survived by her son Rodney Cantrell of West Liberty, KY; two grandchildren, Nathan & Megan Cantrell of Salt Lick, KY and Reanna Carty of Salyersville, KY; several great grandchildren; and one sister, Irene Hill of West Liberty, KY; and a host of nieces & nephews.
Funeral service 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at the Potter Funeral Home with Bro. Jackie Holbrook & Bro. Marvin Holbrook officiating. Burial to follow in the Holbrook Cemetery, Hwy 437, West Liberty, KY. Visitation from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at the Potter Funeral Home.
