Betty Faye (Buskirk) Adams

Betty Faye Adams of West Liberty, KY, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Morgan County ARH, West Liberty, KY, at the age of 93 years and 2 days. She was born on Sunday, July 13, 1930, daughter of the late Elmer & Myrtle Phelps Buskirk.

Betty was united in marriage to Deward Adams.  This union was blessed with three sons, Richard, Thomas, & David.  Betty was a retired store clerk most recently retiring from Peyton’s Pharmacy in West Liberty.  She also previously worked for Martin’s Department Store where she was a clerk, book-keeper, and seamstress, Blossom Floral Shop, and was an owner and operator of A & A Grocery Store.  Betty was a Christian and a faithful member of the West Liberty Christian Church.  She was always willing to volunteer her time at church functions and at the food pantry.  Betty was known for her delicious hush puppies that she would make for the church fish fry.  She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, and sister.  She will be sadly missed by all her family, church family, friends and all who knew and loved her.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer & Myrtle Buskirk; her husband, Deward Adams; one brother & sister, Charles Thomas Buskirk and Arvessa Hall; daughter-in-law, Mary Adams; one step-grandchild, Debbie; and one step-great grandchild, Shane. 

Survivors include three sons, Richard L. Adams of Winchester, KY, Thomas “Tom” D. Adams of Hendersonville, TN, and David W. Adams (Sandi) of Ezel, KY; three grandchildren, Jerome Adams of Winchester, KY, Amanda Adams of West Liberty, KY, & Thomas Adams of Nashville, TN; two great grandchildren, Caitlin Marie Adams & Kayleb Grone; one sister, Lenora Adams of Winchester, KY; two step grandchildren, James & Missy; seven step great grandchildren, Tasha, Chris, Ryan, Tiffany, Luke, Thomas, & Daniel; and four step great-great grandchildren, Kenzie, Isaac, Ila, & Haddix.

Funeral Service, 11 a.m., Thursday, July 20, 2023 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Rev. Hunter Fraley officiating.  Burial to follow in the Flatwoods Cemetery, Woodsbend, KY.  Visitation 6 p.m., Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at the Potter Funeral Home.
