Arthur Robert "Bobby" Johnson of West Liberty, KY, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2019 at the U.K. Medical Center, Lexington, KY, at the age of 73 years, 1 month, and 25 days. He was born Monday, September 2, 1946 at Lenox, KY, son of the late John Jacob & Florence Conley Johnson.
Bobby was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving his country during the Vietnam War. He was a Bronze Star & Purple Heart recipient. He was united in marriage to Mary Lou Conley, this union was blessed with four children, Billy, Patti, John Jacob, and Ursula. He was a Christian and a member of the Lacy Creek Church of Christ. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Maxine Adkins and Pauline Elliott; one son-in-law, Jeffrey Elam; his father-in-law, James Conley; and two brothers-in-law, Ruby LeMaster and Clifford Adkins.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Lou Conley Johnson; four children, Billy Johnson & Melanie of Mt. Sterling, KY, Patti Elam Byrd & Terry, John Jacob Johnson, II & Larissa, and Ursula Elam & Kevin all of West Liberty, KY; nine grandchildren, Rachel Elam, Jeffrey Elam, II, Joseph Elam, Jacob Nickell, Kennedy Johnson, Harmony Johnson, Gracelyn Johnson, Jeremiah Johnson, and baby boy Johnson; four sisters, Josephine O'Neal of West Liberty, KY, Emily Clay Hicks & Truman of Leburn, KY, Nora Ellen LeMaster of Ashland, OH, and Bernice Marie Bolin & Gary of West Liberty, KY; his mother-in-law, Essie Conley; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service 1 p.m., Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at the Lacy Creek Church of Christ, with Elder Joe Conley, Bro. George Robbins, and Bro. Mitchell O'Neal officiating. Burial to follow in the Church of Christ Cemetery, Lacy Creek, KY, with Morgan County DAV Chapter 132 to conduct military rites. Visitation 6 p.m., Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at the Potter Funeral Home.
Pallbearers: Billy Johnson, Jacob Johnson, Charlie Bolin, Johnny O'Neal, Jake Nickell, David Conley, and John Conley.
Honorary Pallbearers: Tim Conley, Joseph Elam, Jeffrey Elam, Kevin Elam, and Terry Byrd.
