(Gaynell), and one sister, Helen Price Stacy.
Anna Jean is survived by three sons: Hank and Charlette Allen of West Liberty, Kentucky, Perry

As a devoted mother and wife, traveling with her family for sports or vacation were among her
favorite activities - a memorable one for her sons included a two week tour of the South in 1969
in their Ford Econoline van.
Anna Jean graduated from Morgan County High School and graduated from Kentucky
Wesleyan University in Winchester, Kentucky. She was employed by the Morgan County Board
of Education where she taught high school English for thirty-three years.
Anna Jean was a Christian and a lifetime member of West Liberty United Methodist Church.
She had deep faith in God and lived her Christian values daily. Also, she belonged to the
Margaret Stacy Circle and helped with many community projects. She was a member of the
ARH Auxillary, the Golden Girls, and the Kentucky Wesleyan Girls, who met yearly for decades.
For many years she was also a member of the West Liberty Homemakers. She enjoyed
scrapbooking, crafts, and photography.
Her love of sporting events was well known. She loved watching her sons, grandsons, and
great-grandsons play sports and her granddaughters cheer and she was proud of her “football
family.” Her personal love of playing tennis carried on through her eighties.
Cooking was one of her favorite expressions of caring for others. Pimento cheese, chili,
homemade pickles, molasses cookies, and her Taste of Home prize-winning buttermilk cake
with caramel frosting were only a few of the delicious homemade treats that she shared at home
and at church, along with many other baked and canned goods for which she won many
ribbons. Her meals of whatever wild game her husband and sons harvested were legendary and
