Ancil Reed Martin

Ancil Reed Martin of West Liberty, KY, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at the Life Care Center, Morehead, KY, at the age of 85 years & 7 days.  He was born Monday, January 9, 1939 at Omer, KY, son of the late Estill Lee & Laura Edith Barker Martin.

Ancil was a U.S. Army veteran and a retired mechanic.  He will be remembered as a loving brother & uncle, and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Estill & Laura Martin; one brother, Darrell Lee Martin; and three sisters, Lois Ingram, Fern Perry, and Debra Dennis.

He is survived by two sisters, Joyce McKinney of West Liberty, KY and Carolyn Otten of Mt. Sterling, KY; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral service 1 p.m. Thursday, January 18, 2024 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Bro. Marty Wright & Bro. Phillip Wright officiating.  Burial will follow in the Barker & Cox Cemetery, Hwy 772, West Liberty, KY.  Visitation from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Thursday, January 18, 2024 at the funeral home. 

Pallbearers:  Kenny Bates, Bobby Wright, Phillip Wright, Hunter Wright, Harley Martin, Eric Martin, and Marty Wright.
