Alta Mae Blevins

Alta Mae Blevins of West Liberty, KY, passed away, Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at Highlands ARH Regional Medical Center, at the age of 85 years, 5 months, and 29 days.  She was born Monday, April 19, 1937, at Crockett, KY, daughter of the late Oscar & Cora Fannin Ison.

Alta was united in marriage to Darrell Blevins on December 6, 1959. This union was blessed with one daughter, Denise.  Alta was a retired lunchroom monitor for Morgan County High School.  She was a devoted Christian since the age of 14.  She was a member of the Broadway Church of God.  Alta was a caring and giving woman and was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister-in-law, and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell Blevins; and six brothers, Cecil Ison, Emerson Ison, Bill Ison, Denver Ison, Autie Ison, and Russell Ison.

Alta is survived by her loving daughter & son-in-law, Denise Blevins Reed & Tommy of White Oak, KY; one granddaughter, Susan Reed of White Oak, KY; one sister-in-law, Genett “Tootsie” Ison of Lexington, KY; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. 

Funeral Service 2 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2022 at the Broadway First Church of God, with Rev. Karl Elam & Rev. Rick Pelfrey officiating.  Burial to follow in the Boney Haney Cemetery, Stacy Fork, KY.  Visitation from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., Friday, October 21, 2022 at the Broadway First Church of God. 

Potter Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. 

Pallbearers:  Jim Fannin, Jared Ison, Zach Penix, Noah Kelsey, Greg Chaney, and Greg Phipps.
