Clara Joan "JoAnn" Woodward

Clara Joan “JoAnn” Woodward of West Liberty, KY, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at the West Liberty Nursing & Rehab Center, West Liberty, KY, at the age of 90 years, 9 months, and 7 days. She was born Sunday, March 10, 1929 at Radford, VA, daughter of the late Alva Jerome Hanks, Sr. & Audrey Spence Hanks.

JoAnn was a homemaker, devoting her life to care for her family and her home. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt, and will be sadly missed by all her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Jerry Hanks.

JoAnn is survived by three children, Mona Lisa & Allen Dalton, Glenda & Curtis Frisby, and James Franklin Woodward all of West Liberty, KY; five grandchildren, Brian & Tina Frisby, Jeremy Dale Dalton, Savannah Claire Louise Woodward, Sierra Teresa Grace Woodward, and Ethan Nathaniel Woodward; one great grandson, Kashton Curtis Frisby; one sister, Janice Hanks of Roanoke, VA; two brothers, Danny & Veronica Hanks of Myrtle Beach, SC and Mike Hanks & Debbie O’Dell of Hardy, VA; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial service 4 p.m., Saturday, December 21, 2019 at the Potter Funeral Home. Visitation 2 - 4 p.m., Saturday, December 21, 2019 at the funeral home.
