Bette Chitwood Bellamy

Bette Bellamy of West Liberty, KY, passed away Friday, March 24, 2006, at the age of 72 years, 11 months, and 29 days. She was born on Saturday, March 25, 1933 at Williamsburg, KY in Whitley County, one of three children born to the late McCoy and Mary Katherine Brown Chitwood. Bette was united in marriage to George Russell Bellamy. To this union, two sons were born, George Murray and William McCoy. She was a homemaker, devoting her life to care for her family and her home, member of West Liberty United Methodist Church, Woman's Club & Book Club. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She is survived by her husband, Dr. George R. Bellamy; her two sons, George Murray and Cheryl Bellamy and William McCoy Bellamy all of West Liberty; two grandchildren Sara Allen and Dr. David Fugate and wife Cindy; two great grandchildren, Linsey Grace and Emma Faith Fugate; one sister, Billie Evans and husband Buddy of Williamsburg, KY; one brother, McCoy Chitwood, Jr. of Cincinnati, OH; one niece, Pat Davis of Williamsburg, KY; and great nieces and nephews. Graveside service 3:00 p.m., Sunday, March 26, 2006, at Flatwoods Cemetery, Woodsbend, KY. No visitation. Pallbearers: Howard Elam, Jamie Brown, Hank Allen, David Fugate, Garry Elam, Chris Humphrey, Chad Gevedon, Brad Gevedon, Kent Nickell, and Greg Bellamy. Memorials suggested to Morgan County ARH Auxiliary or the West Liberty United Methodist Church.
